Every Midnight Autoworks coating job uses BLASK, a professional-grade ceramic coating range developed by car paint experts and professional detailers. It's made for detailing studios, applied by hand in our Willetton studio and backed by a registered warranty of up to 10 years.
Protecting cars since [year]
What is siloxane? A silicon–oxygen compound with the same backbone as glass. It cures into a hard, glossy layer that bonds to your car’s clear coat.
Electric cars need a different approach. They’re packed with cameras, parking sensors, radar and self-closing handles and doors, and some leave the factory with soft paint that marks easily. We’ve coated a lot of EVs in our Willetton studio, and every step is planned around the electronics.
We mask cameras, parking sensors and radar panels before polishing, and keep pads and coating clear of every lens, so driver-assist features work exactly as before.
Where your car has one, we switch on its car-wash or service mode, so wipers, folding mirrors, flush handles and self-closing doors stay put while we work.
Many EVs have softer paint. We correct it gently with the right pads and polish, then lock it in with BLASK ceramic to help resist light wash marks.
No high-pressure water near charge ports, seals or the electronics underneath. We wash by hand with controlled water and keep the charge port closed and dry.
Buying your new car or EV through a novated lease or salary packaging? Many Perth owners add their BLASK ceramic coating and SunTek window tint to the lease, so it’s paid through the package rather than out of pocket. Depending on your provider and your lease, that can mean paying from your pre-tax salary.
Best arranged before your car is delivered. Many providers only include extras added before the lease starts. We invoice any novated lease or salary packaging provider that pays supplier invoices.

We chose BLASK because it’s made for professional studios, not the shelf at an auto store. The range is matched to every surface, from paint to glass and leather, so we can protect the whole car with one system. Its Coat of Arms system lets us pair a tough base coat with a high-gloss topcoat. And every coating is registered with BLASK, so your protection is backed in writing for up to 10 years.
RX752 is rated 9H, helping the paint resist light scratches and fading.
RX752 is 75% siloxane and RX520 is 52% siloxane, the ingredient that forms the protective layer.
RX711 is polysilazane-based and gives the highest gloss and slickest finish in the BLASK range.
Stands up to acid rain, bird droppings, insects, calcium chloride and UV.
Developed by car paint experts and professional detailers, for detailing studios rather than the shelf at an auto store.
Used by detailing studios nationwide that have protected hundreds of cars with BLASK.
A ceramic coating is a liquid that bonds to your car's clear coat and cures into a thin, hard layer. Water, dirt and grime struggle to stick to it, so the car stays cleaner for longer, washes faster and keeps a deeper gloss.
Not all "ceramic" protection is the same. Here's how a professionally applied BLASK coating compares with what you can buy off the shelf.
| Feature | Spray-on sealant | DIY ceramic kit | BLASK by Midnight Autoworks |
|---|---|---|---|
| How long it lasts | A few months | Varies, often 1–2 years | 3, 5 or 10 years, depending on the coating |
| Paint decontaminated first | No | Rarely, a quick wash at best | Yes, full decon wash and clay bar |
| Paint corrected first | No | Only if you do it yourself | Yes, machine polished in our studio |
| Who applies it | You, in the driveway | You, at home | Trained installers, in a controlled studio |
| Layers | One quick layer | Usually one | Up to two: a durable base and a high-gloss topcoat |
| Glass and leather | Not covered | Sometimes, sold separately | Matched BLASK coatings in Signature and Platinum |
| Registered warranty | No | Rarely | Yes, registered with BLASK, up to 10 years |
Typical figures. How long any coating lasts depends on the product, the prep and how the car is looked after.
Dealer packages are often rushed on in the prep bay, usually with no paint correction, and you’re rarely told exactly what product goes on. A coating over improperly prepared paint and surfaces can’t bond properly, and it will fail early. Before you sign, ask these questions:
With us it’s a named BLASK coating, applied by hand by an certified BLASK installer after a full decontamination and paint correction, with interior protection available and a registered warranty. Say no to the dealer package and book us in.
Paint protection film (PPF) is a thick clear film made to absorb stone chips. It has its place, but for most daily-driven cars it’s a big spend for protection you’ll rarely use. A ceramic coating covers what most owners actually deal with: UV, bird droppings, grime, water spots and keeping that showroom gloss. That’s why most owners choose a coating instead.
When PPF does make sense: track days, lots of country highway kilometres, or if you can’t live with a single chip. For most cars around Perth, a quality coating is the smarter spend, and our 10-year Platinum package protects your paint for a decade.
Our longer-rated packages use BLASK's Coat of Arms system: a durable base for long-term protection, then a slick, high-gloss topcoat. Signature gets one RX520 base coat, for two layers. Platinum gets two coats of RX752, for three layers.
BLASK's longest-lasting paint coating. Used on its own or as the base of the Coat of Arms system.
10-yearIn Platinum EXTERIOR PAINTRX520A balance of gloss, slickness and durability. Works alone or as a base layer.
5-yearIn Signature EXTERIOR PAINTRX711The highest gloss and slickest finish in the range. Our go-to topcoat.
3-yearIn every package GLASSGX910Keeps glass clearer and easier to clean, so rain sheets away.
1-year$330 add-on LEATHERLX904Protects leather seats and trim from everyday wear and spills.
1-year$550 add-onBLASK GX910 is a ceramic coating made for glass. On your windscreen, rain pulls into tight beads and runs off instead of smearing across your view, so your wipers clear it in one clean pass.
Your coating is registered through BLASK's official warranty portal, with warranty stickers for your car and the term set by the coating: 10, 5 or 3 years on paint. Keep it valid by following the aftercare guide and booking our yearly Inspection & Refresh. For $250 we give your car a full detail, check the coating panel by panel and apply a ceramic top-up, so it comes back looking like the day you collected it.
A great coating only performs if it's applied properly. Here's what you get when we coat your car.
Over a decade correcting, coating and tinting cars, specialising in new and high-end vehicles.
We’ve owned everything from JDM classics to prestige European cars and high-performance SUVs, so we treat your car the way we treat our own.
Every car starts with a full decontamination wash, then a clay bar treatment to pull out the bonded contaminants a wash can’t reach. Only then do we machine polish away light swirls and scratches, so your coating bonds to clean, corrected paint.
Every coating is applied by hand in our Willetton studio, away from the dust, wind and sun of a driveway.
We’re a fully insured workshop. All vehicles are stored inside our locked and alarmed premises, never left outside.
We cap our bookings so every car gets the time and attention it deserves, start to finish.
Your coating is registered with BLASK, with warranty stickers for your car and aftercare advice to keep it valid.

We fit SunTek window film, made by Eastman, in three grades: CXP carbon, CIR ceramic and Evolve nano-ceramic. Every car gets the darkest shade WA law allows on each side and rear window as standard, for maximum privacy without compliance worries. Windscreens and sunroofs are left clear.
Window film is only as good as the place it’s fitted. One speck of dust under the film is there for good, so every tint we do goes on indoors, in a controlled studio, with film cut by computer, not by hand on your car.
| Feature | Mobile tint | Midnight Autoworks studio |
|---|---|---|
| Where it’s fitted | Outdoors, in a driveway, carport or car park | Inside our clean, enclosed Willetton studio |
| Dust and grit | Wind-blown dust can get trapped under the film for good | Controlled, clean space, so nothing gets sealed under your tint |
| How the film is cut | Often hand-cut with a blade, right on your glass | Computer-cut on a plotter from your car’s exact window pattern |
| Checking the finish | Daylight only | Studio lighting to inspect every edge before handover |
| First hours of curing | Exposed to sun, wind and dust straight away | Starts curing indoors, out of the elements |
A general comparison. Whoever you choose, ask where the film is fitted and how it’s cut.
EV windows are full of technology: frameless doors that drop the glass when you open them, antennas and heating lines built into the glass, and cameras and sensors behind the windscreen. Tinting them takes extra care, and we’ve tinted plenty, from Teslas to BYDs, Polestars and Zeekrs.
All three SunTek films we fit are metal-free, so they won’t interfere with your phone key, keyless entry, GPS or mobile data.
Frameless EV doors drop the glass every time they open. Our computer-cut film is fitted to sit cleanly at the top edge, so it doesn’t catch on the seal.
We cover door trims, speakers and window switches, and use only as much fitting solution as the job needs, so no moisture reaches the electronics.
Rear glass often carries heating lines and antennas. We fit carefully around them so everything works exactly as before. We don’t tint glass roofs, as car makers advise against it.
Getting your car through a novated lease? Add SunTek window tint, on its own or with a ceramic coating, Choose “Novated lease” in your booking request and we’ll email you a tax invoice straight away to send to your lease provider. Work starts once your provider has paid it in full. Best arranged before your car is delivered.
Sunlight carries three things into your car. Window film manages each one differently.
Every piece of SunTek film is cut on a computer plotter from a digital pattern made for your car's make and model. You get a precise, custom fit on every window, with clean edges and even gaps.
Hand-cutting film on the car means a blade working right against your glass, seals and paintwork. Plotter cutting takes that risk away.
Non-metal, nano-hybrid carbon film with a deep, non-reflective black look that won't fade to purple like cheap dyed films.
Ceramic nanoparticles, invisible to the eye, reject more infrared heat than carbon so the cabin stays comfortable in a Perth summer.
SunTek's top-performing film. HeatResist™ ceramic nanoparticles deliver its strongest heat rejection.
UV blocked: 99%+ with all three SunTek films.
Infrared energy rejection, best figure per film: SunTek from its automotive film specifications; dyed film from Madico’s published specifications for name-brand dyed film. Cheaper unbranded dyed film can be lower. Exact results vary with the shade fitted.

Claims from SunTek's published product information. Warranty restrictions apply, so ask us for the details.
There's no shade to choose. Whichever film you pick, we fit it at the darkest level WA law allows. Your glass already blocks some light, so we measure it first, then fit the SunTek shade that brings the combined figure right to the legal limit.
Roof glass sits in direct sun all day, and film can trap heat and put the glass under stress, which risks cracking. Many car manufacturers also advise against tinting roof glass, so we leave sunroofs and panoramic roofs exactly as they came from the factory.
Factory privacy glass in the back? Tint just the front two and we'll match them as closely as the law allows.
The film decides how much heat and UV is blocked. The darkness is always the legal maximum.
Type your car or pick a size to see your price for each SunTek film.
Add tint to any ceramic package and it’s 10% off.
Most clients add tint to a BLASK ceramic package and do it all in one booking. Choose your package and tint together and request your date in one go.

Over 10+ years we've learned that great results don't come from shortcuts. They come from careful prep, the right products and the patience to get every panel right.
Midnight Autoworks is owned and run by car enthusiasts. We’ve owned everything from JDM classics to prestige European cars and high-performance SUVs, so we know what your car means to you, and we look after it accordingly.

It depends on the package and the condition of your paint. Paint correction and multi-layer coatings take longer than a single-layer coating or tint on its own. We confirm your drop-off and pick-up times when you book.
No, and that’s deliberate. Coatings and tint both need a clean, controlled space. Outdoors, wind-blown dust and grit can end up sealed under window film or in a coating for good. Every job is done in our enclosed Willetton studio under proper lighting, and our tint is computer-cut on a plotter, never hand-cut on your car.
No, and that’s deliberate. We specialise in just two things: BLASK ceramic coatings and SunTek window tint. Focusing on two services means our studio, products and training are all set up to do them properly, every time.
In most cases PPF isn’t needed. It’s made to absorb stone chips, which matters for track cars or heavy highway use, but for most daily drivers a ceramic coating gives you the gloss, easy cleaning and UV and grime protection you’re after for a fraction of the price. Coating vs PPF
A liquid coating that bonds to your car’s clear coat and cures into a hard, glossy protective layer. BLASK coatings are based on siloxane, a silicon-oxygen compound with the same backbone as glass. It adds gloss, makes the car much easier to wash and protects the paint from UV, grime and bird droppings.
Wax and spray-on products last weeks to a few months. A professionally applied BLASK coating lasts 3, 5 or 10 years depending on the package, and it’s applied after the paint is prepared and polished. See the full comparison.
Yes, and it’s the best time to do it, but new doesn’t mean perfect. Even brand-new cars often arrive with paint defects: swirls and marring from transport and dealer washes, and imperfections left from the factory. A coating locks in whatever is underneath, so we inspect every new car under studio lighting and polish or correct the paint first, then seal in a finish that’s better than the day it left the showroom. Even paint that looks good hides contamination you can’t see, like iron fallout, rail dust and tar bonded to the clear coat, which slowly breaks it down. Every package starts with a full decontamination wash and clay bar to lift it out before anything is polished or coated.
Ask a few questions before you sign. Dealer protection packages are often applied quickly, usually without any paint correction, and it isn’t always clear which product goes on or how many layers. A coating over improperly prepared paint and surfaces can’t bond properly, and it will fail early. Ask what brand and product it is, whether the paint is decontaminated and corrected first, whether the interior is protected too, whether it’s applied by a certified installer, and what the warranty actually requires. With us you know exactly what you’re getting: a named BLASK coating, applied by hand in our studio after the paint is properly prepared, with a registered warranty. You can say no to the dealer package and book us in for when you pick up your new car.
It helps the paint resist light scratches and wash marks, and our longest-lasting coating, RX752, is rated 9H hardness. It won’t stop stone chips or deep scratches, so no honest installer should promise that.
Our coatings are rated for 3, 5 or 10 years. Every coating is registered with BLASK and comes with warranty stickers and a written warranty. Following the aftercare guide and booking our yearly Inspection & Refresh keeps it valid. For $250 your car gets a full detail, a panel-by-panel coating check and a ceramic top-up, so it leaves looking like the day you collected it. With Platinum, your first one is included.
Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo using the two-bucket method and microfibre, avoid automatic and brush car washes, and don’t put wax over the coating. We confirm cure times at handover. Download our aftercare guide.
Essential suits cars you’ll keep under three years, Signature suits three to six years or a car that lives outside, and Platinum is the best value per year if you’re keeping it seven years or more. The 30-second quiz under Packages will match you in a few taps.
In Western Australia, front side windows must let through at least 35% of light, measured through the glass and film together. Windows behind the front seats can go down to 20%, as long as the car has mirrors on both sides. Film must not be mirror-like (10% reflectance limit). We measure your glass first and fit the darkest SunTek shade that keeps you legal.
SunTek CXP is a carbon film with solid heat and glare control. SunTek CIR is our most popular: a ceramic film that blocks more of the sun’s heat. SunTek Evolve is SunTek’s top nano-ceramic film for the coolest cabin. All three go on at the same darkest legal shade.
Dyed film colours the glass but does little to stop the sun’s heat. Name-brand dyed films reject around 26% of infrared energy, compared with up to 55–65% for the SunTek films we fit, and dyed film can fade and turn purple over time. It’s the cheap film often used in budget and dealer add-on tint jobs, so ask what you’re getting. We don’t sell or fit dyed film.
No. All three SunTek films we fit are metal-free, so they won’t interfere with phone keys, keyless entry, GPS or mobile data.
No. We don’t tint windscreens, and we leave sunroofs and glass roofs as they came from the factory, because film can trap heat and put the glass under stress and many car makers advise against it.
Yes. SunTek window films come with a lifetime limited manufacturer warranty.
Yes, we’re EV specialists and work on a lot of electric cars, from Tesla Model 3 and Model Y to BYD, Polestar, Zeekr, Kia, Hyundai and BMW iX.
Yes, when it’s done with care. We mask cameras, sensors and radar, use the car’s car-wash or service mode where it has one, keep charge ports closed and dry, and keep fitting solution away from door electronics. Our tint film is metal-free, so your signals stay clear. EV ceramic coating · EV window tint
